The setting provides a structured, supportive environment focused on personalised learning, functional skills, and preparation for further education, employment, or independent living. This is a full‑time position, available to start as soon as possible with the view on continuing into the new academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support young people with SEND to access a differentiated and meaningful post‑16 curriculum, including academic learning, functional skills, and life skills.

  • Reinforce key concepts to enable learners to build understanding, confidence, and independence in their learning.
  • Use a range of structured support strategies, such as visual aids, modelling, clear instructions, and practical, hands‑on activities.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement by providing calm, consistent support and encouraging learners to develop self‑management skills.
  • Support learners in developing independence, communication, and social skills, in line with post‑16 outcomes and personal goals.

Pre‑requisites:

  • Experience supporting older students or young people, ideally within post‑16, SEND, care, or similar educational settings.
  • A good understanding of special educational needs and disabilities and how to adapt support to help learners access education and develop life skills.
  • Confidence in using a variety of teaching and support approaches, including modelling tasks, reinforcing learning, and supporting engagement.
