About the role: Justteachers is seeking an SEMH Cover Supervisor to join a vibrant specialist school in the Nelson area on a long‑term basis. The full‑time post is due to start ASAP, with shortlisting currently taking place. The school provides a supportive, structured and nurturing environment for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, placing strong emphasis on positive relationships, emotional regulation and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising classes during teacher absence, ensuring learning continues in a calm and structured manner
- Supporting pupils with SEMH needs to manage behaviour and remain engaged with set work
- Implementing behaviour support strategies and maintaining a positive learning environment
Pre-requisites:
- Relevant qualifications or experience working with pupils with SEMH needs
- Proven experience supporting behaviour and managing groups of learners
- Strong knowledge of SEMH strategies, behaviour management and de‑escalation techniques
- Two education or school‑based references
