About the role: We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Early Years Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly mainstream primary school in Nelson from September 2026 .
This is a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing long-term supply basis , supporting pupils within the Early Years setting and helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging Early Years learning activities.
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to promote learning and development.
- Encourage children’s social, emotional and communication skills through play-based learning.
- Assist with observations, assessments and the preparation of learning resources.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for all children.
- Pre-requisites
- Relevant qualifications, including a Level 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent.
- Proven experience of working within an Early Years setting, preferably in a primary school.
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and child development.
- Two education or school-based references.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
