About the role justteachers is looking for a proactive and resourceful Teaching Assistant to support a lively Key Stage 2 department at a highly-regarded primary school in Market Harborough.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety and is passionate about helping children bridge the gap between lower and upper primary education.
You will work alongside experienced class teachers to create an environment where pupils feel confident to take risks in their learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead small-group interventions focusing on literacy and numeracy to boost student attainment.
- Prepare and organize classroom resources to support diverse learning styles across the Year 4 and 5 cohorts.
- Assist the class teacher in managing classroom behaviour and fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere.
- Supervise students during break times and school trips, ensuring high standards of safety and engagement.
- Provide feedback to the class teacher regarding student progress and any barriers to learning observed during the day.
- Pre-requisites
- Must hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with children, staff, and parents.
- A reliable and flexible “can-do” attitude towards daily school life.
- Experience supporting the UK National Curriculum within a primary setting.
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
