justteachers is delighted to be recruiting for a compassionate and proactive Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner primary schools in the heart of Lutterworth. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about early childhood development and eager to support a positive learning journey for pupils. You will work closely with class teachers to provide a stable, encouraging environment, helping students engage with the curriculum and overcome barriers to learning. Key Responsibilities

  • In-Class Support: Assist the class teacher in the delivery of daily lessons, ensuring all pupils stay on task and understand the learning objectives.
  • Small Group Work: Lead focused activities with small groups of children to improve progress in core areas such as phonics, reading, and basic numeracy.
  • Resource Preparation: Help prepare the classroom environment and organize learning materials to ensure lessons run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Pupil Welfare: Provide 1:1 support for students who require additional emotional or social guidance, fostering a safe and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Observation & Feedback: Monitor student engagement and behaviour, providing the class teacher with valuable feedback to assist in future lesson planning.

Pre-requisites

  • Qualification: Must hold a recognized Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning).
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting, with a solid understanding of classroom routines.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with staff, pupils, and parents.
  • Professionalism: A reliable and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of a primary school day.
  • Compliance: Possession of an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one) and the provision of two professional references.
