About the role
A supportive SEND school in Louth is seeking a full-time KS3 Support Worker to join their team as soon as possible.
This role involves working closely with Key Stage 3 pupils, including providing dedicated 1:1 support for a young student who requires additional guidance to access learning and develop confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 support for a KS3 pupil, adapting activities to meet their individual needs and learning style.
- Support across the classroom, assisting teaching staff in delivering inclusive, differentiated lessons.
- Break down tasks into manageable steps and reinforce key concepts to support understanding and engagement.
- Use structured strategies such as visual supports, clear instructions, and modelling to aid learning and maintain focus.
- Support emotional regulation by providing calm, consistent guidance and helping pupils manage challenges effectively.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence, confidence, and participation.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support their personal and social development.
Pre-requisites
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly within KS3 or secondary settings.
- Experience or confidence in delivering 1:1 support.
- Understanding of additional needs and strategies to support engagement, behaviour, and emotional regulation.
- Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships.
- Relevant qualifications (e. g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Childcare, Health & Social Care) or equivalent experience.
