SEN Post 16 Teacher (All Subjects) Coventry SEN College
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Contract Type: Full Time, term time only
Pay: £139.9 - £190 - 9am-4:15pm (PAYE no umbrella deductions)
About the role:
justteachers is seeking a committed and versatile SEN Post 16 Teacher to join a specialist SEN College in Coventry. This role involves teaching across a range of subjects to Post 16 students with additional needs including Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), SEMH, and complex needs. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible on an ongoing basis. The successful candidate will deliver a broad and accessible curriculum, supporting students' academic progress, vocational development, and preparation for adulthood. You will work closely with support staff and external professionals to ensure learners achieve their EHCP outcomes and develop independence, employability skills, and confidence.
Key Requirements:
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across a range of subjects suited to Post 16 learners.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual EHCP targets and learning needs.
- Support students' personal development, independence, and preparation for adulthood.
- Work collaboratively with learning support assistants, SENCOs, and external agencies.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies using positive approaches.
- Monitor, assess and track student progress, maintaining accurate records.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant teaching qualification.
- Experience working within an SEN or Post 16 setting (desirable).
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
- A minimum of two references covering the past two years, including your most recent employer (education-based references preferred).
