About the role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary SEND Support Assistant to join our welcoming junior school, working full time across Key Stage 2. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive both academically and emotionally. You will work closely with class teachers and the SEND team to provide tailored support, with a strong focus on 1:1 work with pupils who have SEND and SEMH needs. The role is available for an immediate start, with the potential to continue into September 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high‑quality 1:1 support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
  • Assist in delivering personalised learning plans and targeted interventions
  • Support pupils in developing confidence, emotional regulation, and positive learning behaviours
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENDCo, and external professionals
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive, nurturing, and safe learning environment
  • Monitor and record progress, ensuring communication with staff and families is clear and supportive
  • Promote independence, resilience, and engagement in learning

Pre-requisites:

  • Essential: Experience supporting SEND pupils within KS2, including 1:1 work
  • Confidence working with children with a range of SEND and SEMH needs
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing
  • Relevant training or qualifications in SEND support (desirable but not essential with strong experience)
