About the role
Justteachers is seeking a full-time PRU Learning Support Assistant to join an alternative provision starting in June 2026 in the Leeds area to cover on a short-term, supply basis. This inclusive and supportive setting focuses on helping pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs to re-engage with education, building confidence, resilience, and positive relationships.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Implement behaviour management strategies to promote engagement and positive outcomes
- Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support pupils’ emotional and academic development
Prerequisites
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent)
- Proven experience supporting pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour
- Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies and SEMH support approaches
- Two education or school-based references
