Justteachers are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Design Technology Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Leeds from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students through creative, practical learning.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress in line with school policies
- Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop/classroom environment
- Inspire creativity and innovation through practical and theoretical teaching
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school expectations
- Provide feedback to students, parents, and colleagues
- Support extracurricular activities related to Design Technology and/or Art
Pre-requisites
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (preferred for DT Teacher role)
- Experience teaching Design Technology and/or Art in a school setting
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons
- For Cover Teachers: proven experience covering lessons, ideally with an Art specialism
- A passion for education and supporting student development
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
