About the role:
Justteachers is recruiting for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a specialist school in the Lancaster area on a long-term basis.
The full-time post is due to start in September 2026, with shortlisting currently taking place.
The school provides a highly structured, nurturing and therapeutic environment, supporting pupils with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs. There is a strong focus on safeguarding, positive relationships and helping pupils develop safe behaviours and emotional understanding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with complex behavioural and emotional needs
- Supporting the implementation of detailed behaviour and safeguarding plans
- Working closely with teaching staff, safeguarding leads and external professionals to promote positive outcomes and safe behaviours
Pre-requisites:
- Relevant qualifications or experience supporting pupils with complex behavioural or SEMH needs
- Proven experience working in a 1:1 role within an educational or specialist setting
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour management and trauma-informed approaches
- The ability to maintain professional boundaries and follow robust safeguarding procedures
- Two education or school-based references
