About the role: Justteachers are pleased to be working in partnership with a welcoming Primary school in Great Yarmouth, who are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term supply basis, starting September. This school provides a supportive and structured learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop strong early learning skills and confidence as they transition into Key Stage 1. Staff work collaboratively, supported by an approachable leadership team that values consistency, high-quality teaching, and pupil wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver lessons in line with the Year 1 National Curriculum
  • Support pupils’ development in early literacy, numeracy, and phonics
  • Establish clear classroom routines to support positive behaviour and learning
  • Use assessment to monitor progress and inform planning
  • Create a positive, nurturing classroom environment that supports confidence and curiosity
  • Work effectively with teaching assistants and the wider KS1 team

Pre-requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 1
  • A good understanding of phonics and early reading development
  • The ability to deliver engaging, age‑appropriate lessons
  • Strong classroom organisation and behaviour management skills
  • Two recent education based references
