About the role:

Justteachers are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Hunstanton who are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Art and Design Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.

This exciting opportunity is ideal for a passionate Art and Design specialist who is committed to inspiring creativity, developing artistic skills, and encouraging students to express themselves through a range of artistic mediums. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to explore their creativity and achieve their full potential.

The school prides itself on its strong community ethos, supportive leadership team, and commitment to delivering a broad and engaging curriculum. This role would suit an experienced Art and Design Teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to develop their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and inspiring Art and Design lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Encourage creativity, experimentation, and self-expression through a variety of artistic techniques and mediums
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports student achievement
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, and achievement
  • Support students in developing both practical and theoretical understanding of Art and Design
  • Contribute to the development of the Art curriculum and department initiatives
  • Organise and contribute to displays, exhibitions, and enrichment opportunities where appropriate
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, carers, and colleagues
  • Participate in school meetings, training, and professional development opportunities
  • Promote safeguarding and student welfare at all times
  • Uphold the school’s values and commitment to providing high-quality education for all learners

Pre-requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Art and Design within a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for creative education
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire and challenge students
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
  • A commitment to achieving positive outcomes for all students
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A creative, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to teaching and learning
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Two recent education-based references
