About the role:
We are working in partnership with a welcoming and nurturing Infant School in Hunstanton who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.
This rewarding opportunity is ideal for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive within a mainstream school environment. The successful candidate will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), helping them to access learning, develop social skills, and build confidence throughout the school day.

This role would suit someone with previous SEND experience or an individual looking to develop their skills within a supportive educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Support the pupil in accessing learning activities both within and outside the classroom
- Adapt tasks and resources to meet the individual needs of the child
- Encourage engagement, participation, and independence throughout the school day
- Support the pupil's social, emotional, and communication development
- Implement strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Build a positive, trusting, and supportive relationship with the pupil
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff to ensure consistent provision
- Assist with the delivery of individual targets and support plans
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff
- Promote inclusion and encourage positive interactions with peers
- Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and supportive learning environment
- Support transitions, routines, and structured activities throughout the day
- Follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
Pre-requisites:
- Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school or educational setting
- Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) is highly desirable
- A patient, calm, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with young children
- A good understanding of strategies to support communication, sensory needs, and emotional regulation
- A proactive and flexible attitude towards supporting learning and development
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Two recent education-based references
