About the role
Justteachers is seeking a full-time Specialist SEND Support Assistant to join an established specialist school starting ASAP in the Huddersfield area to cover on a long-term basis. This dedicated and inclusive setting provides a highly supportive environment for pupils with complex needs, focusing on personalised learning, therapeutic support and holistic development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with a range of complex SEND needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assist in delivering tailored learning plans and interventions to meet individual EHCP targets
- Promote positive behaviour, communication, and emotional regulation through structured support strategies
Pre-requisites
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent)
- Proven experience supporting pupils with SEND, ideally within a specialist school setting
- Strong knowledge of SEND strategies, including communication and behaviour support approaches
- Two education or school-based references
