- Justteachers is working in partnership with a supportive and thriving school in
- Shipley that is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced
- Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from
September 2026 .
This is a full-time position that will initially be offered on a temporary basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract for the right candidate.
The school is looking for a confident HLTA who can support teaching and learning across a range of year groups, deliver planned interventions, and lead lessons in the absence of the class teacher when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils’ learning and development across the school.
- Deliver pre-planned lessons and manage whole-class learning in the teacher’s absence.
- Work closely with teaching staff to plan and implement targeted interventions.
- Provide individual and small group support to pupils who require additional assistance.
- Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress.
- Help maintain a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
- Support pupils with varying learning needs and abilities.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and support extracurricular activities where appropriate.
Pre-requisites
- HLTA status or relevant qualifications and experience equivalent to the role.
- Previous experience working within a primary or secondary school setting.
- Strong classroom management skills and confidence leading whole-class learning.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND would be advantageous.
- A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude towards supporting children and young people.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
