About the role: Justteachers is seeking a committed and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to provide PPA cover across a vibrant and supportive primary school in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA looking for a long-term role that could lead to a permanent position for the right candidate. The role is set to commence in September 2026 with shortlisting and interviews taking place after May half term.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality PPA cover across various year groups
  • Lead whole-class teaching following planned lessons
  • Support pupils’ learning, behaviour, and engagement
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and senior leaders
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment

Pre-requisites:

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification
  • Experience delivering whole-class teaching in a primary setting
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • A good understanding of the primary curriculum
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
