About the role justteachers are working with a welcoming secondary school in Harrogate to recruit a dedicated and reliable Secondary Teaching Assistant.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils across a range of subjects, helping them stay engaged, confident and on track with their learning in a supportive school environment.
The role is offered on a full time contract to start in September on a long term supply basis.
You will play a key role in ensuring pupils feel supported, included and able to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils in lessons across a range of subjects, helping them understand tasks and stay engaged
- Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning and provide additional guidance under the direction of the SENDCO
- Support pupils with varying needs, including SEN, to access the curriculum.
- Pre-requisites
- Experience working with young people in a school or similar setting
- A positive, proactive approach and a genuine interest in supporting learning.
- Confidence working with secondary-aged pupils.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and a willingness to support pupils both academically and pastorally
