About the role: Justteachers is seeking a Behaviour Support Mentor to join a dedicated alternative provision in the Harrogate area on a long‑term basis. This full‑time role is due to begin in September, and the school is currently reviewing applications. The provision is committed to offering a supportive, trauma‑informed environment where young people are encouraged to re‑engage with learning and build positive, sustainable futures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs to participate positively in learning
  • Using behaviour support strategies and de‑escalation techniques in line with school policies
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external agencies to promote pupil wellbeing

Pre‑requisites:

  • Relevant qualifications in education, youth work or behaviour support
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and trauma‑informed practice
  • Two education or school‑based references
