justteachers is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Great Yarmouth to recruit a caring and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time, long-term position with a September start.
The successful candidate will provide one-to-one support for a pupil with additional needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and thrive within the classroom environment. The school is committed to inclusion and creating a nurturing atmosphere where every child is supported to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN within the classroom
- Support the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
- Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of the pupil
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Build a supportive and trusting relationship with the pupil
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
- Experience working with children, ideally within a primary school setting
- Previous SEN or 1:1 support experience is desirable
- A patient, caring, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Two recent, relevant references
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
