About the role:
A supportive SEND provision in Grantham offering both school and residential care for children and young people with additional needs, including SEMH. The setting provides a structured and nurturing environment where students are supported across both their education and home life, focusing on developing independence, emotional regulation, and confidence. Staff work across both the school day and residential setting to ensure consistency, routine, and strong relationships. This role is available on a full-time basis with an ASAP start.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support young people throughout both the school day and residential routines, ensuring consistency and stability across environments
- Work alongside teaching staff to support adapted lessons, breaking down tasks and reinforcing learning in an accessible way
- Support daily living tasks such as morning/evening routines, mealtimes, and independence skills within the residential setting
- Use calm, consistent behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques to support emotional regulation and positive outcomes
Pre-requisites:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND or SEMH needs within education, residential care, or similar settings
- Understanding of behaviour management strategies and ability to remain calm and consistent under pressure
- Confidence in building positive relationships and acting as a strong role model across both learning and care environments
- Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care, Teaching Assistant, Childcare, or equivalent experience
