About the role: We are recruiting a committed and resilient SEMH Teacher to join a specialist setting in Peterborough supporting children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Create a calm, structured learning environment that promotes emotional safety and positive behaviour.
- Implement and contribute to behaviour support plans and personalised learning strategies.
- Use trauma-informed, restorative, and relationship-based approaches to support engagement and progress.
- Work closely with support staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to meet individual pupil needs.
- Monitor progress, adapt teaching approaches, and contribute to reviews and reports as required.
Pre-requisites
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred (ECTs with relevant experience are welcome to apply).
- Experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND, or additional behavioural needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills and confidence using positive behaviour frameworks.
- Ability to remain calm, flexible, and reflective in a challenging but rewarding environment.
