Justteachers is pleased to be supporting one of our valued partner schools in Downham Market in their search for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, offered on a one-year contract. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 national curriculum
- Prepare pupils for end of Key Stage 1 assessments (SATs)
- Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress effectively
- Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with additional needs
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents
- Provide constructive feedback to support pupil development
- Uphold and follow the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures
Pre-requisites
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally within Year 2
- A strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and assessment requirements
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- A positive, proactive, and flexible approach to teaching
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
- Two education-based references from within the last two years
