justteachers is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Downham Market to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for one academic year with an immediate start. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils across Key Stage 2, supporting learning in the classroom and helping children to reach their full potential both academically and socially. The school prides itself on providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning across KS2 classes
- Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities
- Help to create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Contribute to the wider school community and daily classroom routines
Qualifications
- Experience working with children, ideally within a primary school setting
- Previous KS2 support experience is desirable
- A positive, patient, and proactive attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
- Two recent, relevant references
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
