About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Geography Teacher to join a secondary school in Doncaster from September 2026. This is a full-time, fixed-term position to cover a maternity leave until Easter 2027. The successful candidate will deliver engaging Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students to achieve their full potential. The school is known for its inclusive ethos, strong community values and commitment to providing a high-quality learning environment where both students and staff can thrive.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress and attainment.
- Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and achievement.
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students, including those requiring additional support.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and work collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities department.
Pre-requisites
- Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Youth Work, Psychology or a related field.
- Proven experience of supporting children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
- Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies and safeguarding practices.
- Two education or school-based references.
- A calm, patient and resilient approach with the ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable learners.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
