About the role:
A supportive and inclusive SEND setting outside Peterborough is seeking a committed SEND Teacher to work with pupils who have a range of additional needs. The school provides a nurturing, structured environment where learning is adapted to meet individual needs and promote academic progress, independence, and emotional wellbeing. This role can be on a full-time or part-time basis with an ASAP start.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver highly differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with SEND.
- Create a structured, inclusive learning environment that supports engagement, independence, and confidence.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of needs, including communication, cognition, and emotional regulation.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and SEN staff to implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
- Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches to ensure positive outcomes.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation through consistent routines, clear expectations, and supportive strategies.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred, with experience or a strong interest in SEND education.
- Previous experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEND in mainstream, specialist, or alternative provision settings.
- A good understanding of inclusive teaching practices and how to adapt the curriculum to meet diverse learning needs.
- Strong classroom management skills with a calm, patient, and flexible approach.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting positive outcomes for all learners.
