About the role: We are seeking a dedicated Behavioural Support Worker to join a supportive SEND setting located just outside of Sleaford. The school provides personalised support for children and young people across a range of age groups, focusing on emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and engagement in learning. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping pupils develop coping strategies, improve self‐regulation, and access education within a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. Positions are available with an immediate start and offer flexibility depending on availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent, proactive behavioural support to pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Support pupils in managing behaviour, emotions, and responses to challenges, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to implement behaviour support plans and individual strategies.
  • Use clear routines, de‐escalation techniques, and positive behaviour approaches to promote engagement and safety.
  • Help pupils re‐engage with learning following behavioural or emotional difficulties.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships to support pupils' confidence, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Monitor and reflect on behaviour patterns, reporting progress and concerns to staff as required.

Pre‐requisites:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs in education, care, youth work, residential, or similar settings.
  • A good understanding of behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent, particularly in challenging situations.
  • Relevant qualifications such as Youth Work, Childcare, Teaching Assistant, Health & Social Care, or equivalent experience are desirable.
