About the role
Justteachers is currently recruiting a caring and committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join the team at a Specialist Education setting in Coventry. This is a full‑time role, starting in September 2026, with the opportunity to work long‑term within a well‑respected specialist setting.
The school provides education for children and young people aged 4–19 with a range of additional needs including visual impairment, physical disabilities, medical needs, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. The school prides itself on providing a supportive, inclusive learning environment where all pupils can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individual pupils or small groups with their learning and emotional development.
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver tailored learning activities.
- Promote inclusion and encourage independence in line with pupils’ individual needs and EHCPs.
- Assist with personal care and mobility support where necessary.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
Pre-requisites
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience in an educational setting.
- Experience supporting children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping young people succeed.
- A flexible, positive attitude and the ability to respond to the changing needs of pupils.
- Two recent, school‑based references.
