About the role:
Justteachers is seeking a Teacher to work within a Year 7 class in a specialist school in the Colne area on a long‑term basis. Although pupils are of secondary age, they are working at primary academic levels, therefore previous primary teaching experience is essential. The full‑time post is due to start in September 2026, with shortlisting currently taking place.
The school offers a nurturing and structured environment, supporting pupils with additional needs as they transition into secondary education while continuing to access a primary‑style curriculum focused on core skills, confidence and positive engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering primary‑level curriculum learning for Year 7 pupils
- Supporting pupils with varying academic, emotional and developmental needs
- Creating a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes engagement and progress
Pre‑requisites:
- Relevant teaching qualifications (QTS or equivalent)
- Proven experience teaching at primary level (essential)
- Strong knowledge of adapting learning for pupils working below age‑related expectations
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs (desirable)
- Two education or school‑based references
