About the Role
We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a large primary school in Castleford on a full-time, temporary long-term supply basis starting in September. The successful candidate will provide classroom cover across all year groups, ensuring pupils remain engaged and supported in their learning. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring teacher looking to gain valuable classroom experience within a supportive and welcoming school environment. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-planned lessons and activities across all primary year groups.
- Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Support pupils with their learning and encourage active participation.
- Liaise with teaching staff to ensure continuity of learning.
- Uphold school policies and contribute positively to the wider school community.
Pre-requisites
- Relevant qualifications, ideally including a degree or experience working within an educational setting.
- Proven experience of working with primary-aged children.
- Strong knowledge of classroom management and effective behaviour strategies.
- Two education or school-based references.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for education and supporting young learners.
- An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
