We’re seeking an inspiring
English GCSE Lecturer to join our Castleford-based Further Education establishment on a full-time maternity cover from
September 2026 .

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver dynamic, learner‑centred English sessions across GCSE and Functional Skills.
- Support vocational students by embedding English skills relevant to their industry pathways.
- Track, assess, and record learner progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support.
- Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring content is accessible, inclusive, and aligned with FE standards.
- Maintain a positive, motivating classroom environment that encourages resilience and achievement.
- Participate in team meetings, quality processes, and wider college initiatives.
Pre‑requisites
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
- Strong subject knowledge in English, including GCSE and Functional Skills frameworks.
- Experience teaching in a Further Education setting, ideally with vocational cohorts.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom‑management skills.
- A commitment to inclusive practice and supporting learners with varied needs and starting points.
- Passion, creativity, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
