About the role:
Justteachers is currently seeking a SEND Teacher to join a specialist provision in the Preston area. This full-time, long-term position is due to begin as soon as possible, with the opportunity to move into a permanent post for the right candidate.
The school caters for children and young people aged 8–19 with complex needs, primarily Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties and It offers a high standard of education and support both academically and emotionally to achieve their personal potential.
With small class sizes, high levels of support, and a commitment to restorative practice, this setting is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and delivering personalised, meaningful learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that support academic, social, and emotional progress
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and families to meet EHCP outcomes
- Promote a calm, safe learning environment where behaviour is managed positively
- Track and report on student progress, adapting strategies where necessary
Pre-requisites:
- QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH/ASC in a school or specialist setting
- A trauma-informed, pupil-centred approach to teaching and learning
- Two recent and relevant references from educational settings
