About the role: Justteachers are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to support one of our partner primary schools from September 2026, teaching a Year 5 class on a full-time basis. This role is to cover a maternity leave for the full academic year, running from September 2026 to July 2027. The school welcomes applications from experienced teachers and ECTs, offering strong support and mentoring throughout the placement. PPA time will be provided, however, full class teaching responsibilities will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for the teaching and learning of a Year 5 class.
- Plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum.
- Assess, track, and report on pupil progress to support attainment and development.
- Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all pupils, including those requiring additional support or challenge.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with KS2 colleagues, support staff, and senior leaders.
- Attend staff meetings, CPD sessions, and contribute to wider school life.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and welfare.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential).
- Experience teaching in KS2, ideally within Year 5 (preferred but not essential).
- Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and assessment expectations.
- Confidence in managing a full class and fulfilling teaching responsibilities.
- Clear communication skills and a positive, professional approach.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
