Teacher of French Bradford

Justteachers are working on behalf of a Bradford secondary school to appoint a Teacher of French to start in September 2026 on a long-term basis. Full and part-time options will be considered.

The successful French Teacher will have a good, up-to-date working knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies and know how to use and adapt them, including how to personalise learning to provide opportunities for all learners to achieve their potential. The Teacher of French will have secure subject knowledge and understanding of the French curriculum and related pedagogy.

• Plan and deliver engaging French lessons to KS4 that build vocabulary, grammar, speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in line with curriculum requirements.
• Use a range of teaching strategies (e.g., modelling, scaffolding, target‑language immersion, retrieval practice) to support diverse learners.
• Set high expectations for behaviour, participation, and linguistic accuracy.
• Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of SEND, EAL, and high‑attaining students.
• Integrate authentic cultural content (Francophone cultures, current events, literature, film, music) to deepen students’ understanding and motivation.
• Promote active use of the target language, encouraging students to speak French confidently and spontaneously.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Strong subject knowledge in French
• Experience teaching to KS4
