A primary school in Bradford is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join their onsite provision this September 2026. This full-time role focuses on supporting students across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who have a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), with a particular emphasis on behavioural support. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with young people who require tailored interventions and consistent support to thrive in their education.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with behavioural needs in a structured and nurturing environment
- Assist in the delivery of personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the SENCO to implement effective support
- Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress
- Monitor and record student behaviour and progress
- Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment
Pre-requisites
- Experience working with young people with SEND, particularly behavioural needs
- Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent in challenging situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Team Teach or equivalent) desirable
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
