September 2026 . This is a full-time position for the duration of the 2026/27 academic year , offering an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive department and inspire the next generation of scientists.

The school is seeking a dynamic teacher who can deliver engaging and challenging Science lessons, helping students develop their knowledge, practical skills, and confidence across the subject.

Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering curiosity and encouraging students to achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated Science department, contributing to a positive learning environment and supporting students in achieving strong academic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress in line with school policies.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes achievement and engagement.
  • Prepare students for assessments and GCSE examinations.
  • Support practical investigations and ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and enrichment activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff to maximise student success.

Pre-requisites

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • A passion for Science and a commitment to engaging young people in learning.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to raising attainment and supporting student progression.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
