Justteachers are currently recruiting for a compassionate and committed Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bradford from September 2026. This role is based within the school’s onsite SEND provision, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference in children’s lives by providing tailored support and helping pupils to access learning in a safe, nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils with a range of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH needs
- Deliver targeted interventions and support learning on a 1:1 or small group basis
- Assist the class teacher in adapting resources and lessons to meet individual needs
- Support pupils with behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
- Monitor and report on pupil progress to teaching staff
- Assist with personal care where required (if applicable to the provision)
- Contribute to a safe, calm, and supportive learning environment
Pre-requisites
- Experience working with children with SEND in a school or similar setting
- A strong understanding of different special educational needs and strategies to support them
- Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach
- Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable
