Justteachers are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Bradford from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and enthusiastic practitioner who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development.
Working closely with teachers and the wider school team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality education, supporting pupils across the primary age range, and leading lessons where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for individuals, groups, or whole classes
- Cover classes during teacher absence (PPA time, training, or short-term absence)
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers
- Support the implementation of school policies and behaviour strategies
- Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and displays
- Provide targeted intervention support to pupils who need additional help
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Liaise effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals where appropriate
Pre-requisites
- HLTA status or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience working within a primary school setting
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
- Confidence in leading whole-class learning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to support pupils with a range of abilities and needs
- A calm, adaptable, and proactive approach to work
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
