About the role: Justteachers are working with a Bradford Secondary School to appoint a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their Inclusion Department. This role is to start as soon as possible and run on a long-term basis. This role is central to ensuring that every student regardless of need, background, or starting point can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and pastoral staff to support students with a range of additional needs
- Support with needs including SEND, SEMH and EAL
- Deliver targeted interventions, either 1:1 or in small groups
- Create an inclusive, nurturing environment where students feel valued, confident, and able to succeed
- Promote an inclusive ethos across the school, modelling patience, empathy, and high expectations
Pre-requisites:
- Experience supporting young people, ideally in an educational or youth-work setting
- Understand a range of SEND and SEMH needs and effective support strategies
- Be a clear communicator
- Be adaptable, proactive and able to respond calmly to changing situations
- Two school or youth-based references
