Justteachers are recruiting passionate and committed English Teachers to meet growing demand across a number of secondary schools in Leeds and Bradford from September 2026.

As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in developing students’ literacy, critical thinking, and love of literature, teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 opportunities may be available depending on the school).
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons
- Teach a broad curriculum including literature, language, and writing skills
- Assess, track, and report on student progress
- Support students in developing reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies
- Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development (where applicable)
- Participate in school activities such as parents’ evenings and staff meetings
Pre-requisites
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Degree in English or a related subject
- Experience teaching in a secondary school setting (KS3 & KS4 essential)
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English
- Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
- Adaptable, reliable, and able to thrive in different school environments
