About the role: Justteachers are supporting a primary school in Bradford who are seeking a committed Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This long‑term, full‑time role is ideal for someone who thrives in a supportive school environment and enjoys helping students overcome barriers to learning. You will work closely with teaching staff, pastoral leads, and external agencies to ensure pupils receive the encouragement, guidance, and structure they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with behavioural, emotional, or social needs during lessons and around the school
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies under the guidance of senior staff
  • Offering one‑to‑one mentoring or small‑group interventions to promote positive behaviour
  • Assisting teachers in maintaining a calm, safe and productive learning environment
  • Monitoring pupil progress and reporting key information to the SENCO or Behaviour Lead
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement
  • Supporting in de‑escalation and conflict resolution when required
  • Promoting the school’s values, safeguarding policies, and behaviour expectations.

Pre‑requisites:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, care, or similar)
  • Strong behaviour management skills and resilience in challenging situations
  • A calm, confident, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Availability to work full‑time from September 2026
