About the role justteachers is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive SEN school in Birmingham from September 2026. This role focuses on Key Stage 1 pupils, supporting children with diverse learning needs in a structured and engaging classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for KS1 pupils with SEN
- Assist in delivering tailored learning activities set by the teacher
- Support the development of literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
- Help manage behaviour positively and effectively
- Monitor and record student progress
Pre-requisites
- Previous experience working with SEN children, particularly in KS1
- Understanding of conditions such as ASD, ADHD, or speech and language needs
- Calm and consistent behaviour management approach
- Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
- Relevant TA qualification or equivalent experience
