About the role:
justteachers are recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Birmingham for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to support KS3 students from September 2026. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced teaching staff to provide personalised support for pupils with a range of complex learning and additional needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teaching and learning within KS3 classrooms.
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group interventions.
- Assist students with academic tasks, communication, and emotional regulation.
- Help implement personalised learning and behaviour support plans.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
- Promote student wellbeing, independence, and confidence.
Pre-requisites:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or SEN Support Worker.
- Understanding of SEN, including autism spectrum conditions and SEMH needs.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Relevant training in SEN, Team Teach, or behaviour support would be advantageous.
