About the role:
Justteachers are seeking a compassionate, resilient and skilled SEMH Teacher to work within a specialist provision supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This is a full‑time role with an immediate start, continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for extension for the right candidate. You will be joining a supportive team dedicated to helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to SEMH learners.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support emotional regulation.
- Implement behaviour strategies and de‑escalation techniques effectively.
- Work closely with support staff, SENCOs and external agencies.
- Track and monitor student progress, adapting plans where needed.
- Create a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment.
- Contribute to wider school life and pastoral support.
Pre‑requisites:
- QTS/QTLS or relevant teaching qualification.
- Experience working with SEMH, PRU, alternative provision or similar settings.
- Strong behaviour management and trauma‑informed practice.
- Ability to remain calm, patient and solution‑focused.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Two school based references.
