About the role: justteachers are seeking a skilled and motivated Design and Technology Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in the Bradford area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced DT specialist or a confident ECT to deliver high‑quality lessons across a range of DT disciplines. The position begins immediately and continues through to the end of the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach engaging and practical Design & Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in line with curriculum requirements
- Support students in developing technical skills across materials, tools, and processes
- Ensure safe use of equipment and maintain a well‑organised workshop environment
- Assess, track, and report on pupil progress
- Promote creativity, problem‑solving, and independent thinking
- Maintain strong behaviour management and uphold safeguarding standards
- Contribute to departmental planning, resources, and wider school initiatives
Pre‑requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge across DT specialisms (e.g., Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics)
- Experience teaching DT in UK secondary schools
- A current enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
- Confident classroom management and excellent communication skills
- Two school based references
