About the role:
justteachers is seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join an Alternative Provision (AP) in Blackpool on a long-term basis. The full-time post is due to start in May 2026, with shortlisting currently taking place.
This AP supports 14-19-year-old students who require an alternative approach to education, focusing on engagement, personal development, and preparing for further education or employment. The provision offers a structured and supportive environment to help students manage their behaviour, build resilience, and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress
- Supporting students with behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation
- Working closely with teachers and staff to create a structured and supportive learning environment
Pre-requisites:
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Support Work, Youth Work, or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience working with students with SEMH or behavioural needs, ideally in an alternative provision setting
- Strong knowledge of de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches
- Two education or school-based references
