About the role
We are seeking a full-time Science Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in Barnsley from September 2026 to December 2026. This is a long-term temporary position covering the full Autumn Term. The school provides a supportive, inclusive environment with a strong commitment to student progress and a positive, ambitious learning culture.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Assess, track, and report on pupil progress
- Create a safe, positive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development
- Contribute to the wider school community and enrichment activities
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification
- Proven experience teaching Science at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum
- Ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons
- Two education or school-based references
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
