About the role:
We are currently recruiting a full-time Design Technology Teacher for a long-term supply position based in the Barnsley area, starting September 2026. This role offers the chance to work within a supportive and progressive secondary school that places a strong emphasis on creativity, practical learning, and positive professional relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective Design Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Complete marking, assessment, and feedback in line with school policies and procedures
- Maintain high standards of health and safety within workshops and practical learning spaces
- Monitor and track student progress, adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs
- Work collaboratively with the Design Technology department and the wider school team
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Demonstrable experience teaching Design Technology at secondary level
- Strong knowledge of the Design Technology curriculum and health and safety requirements
- Two recent education or school-based references
- An enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
- A full UK driving licence (advantageous)
