About the role: Justteachers have an excellent opportunity for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant at a Specialist School located near King’s Lynn. This school is looking for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with complex needs. This role will be starting as soon as possible and will be a long-term contract up until July 2026, on a long-term supply basis. The school is committed to providing a nurturing and aspirational learning environment for all students. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and the support team to support pupils with a range of learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a student with complex needs.
  • Support with tasks, understanding instructions, and achieving their learning objectives.
  • Assist with the implementation of EHCP (Educational, Health and Care Plan).
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Support students with emotional, social, and academic development.

Pre-requisites:

  • Experience working within Specialist settings.
  • Two education or school-based references.
  • Previous experience of supporting pupils with SEN and SEMH on a 1:1 support basis.
  • Understanding of SEN and strategies to support diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
