About the role

An exciting role has become available for a 1:1 teaching assistant to deliver SEN support in a junior school in Solihull.

This full-time role will start in September 2026 and will continue for 1 academic year, working as a TA across KS1 and KS2.

The role will involve supporting a child with specific learnings needs.

The school is a two-form entry school for pupils aged 7–11, with a steady and well-managed cohort.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support aligned with the pupil’s EHCP and support progress through tailored, differentiated strategies.
  • Use positive behaviour techniques, de-escalation, and clear routines to aid emotional regulation.
  • Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to share progress updates and support strategies.
  • Pre-requisites
  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience in an educational or care setting.
  • Experience working 1:1 with children with additional needs.
  • Two professional references from an educational or care background.
